My first-ever self-published book, Planetary Odyssey. I printed over 100 copies, and have sold basically all of them at cons and art shows. This book, when i released it, i was super proud of. Now, 3 years later i look back at it a little differently, but this is the curse of the artist, we always look at our older work and think, ā€œWhat the hell was I doing?ā€

The story is about Adi Eon trying to prove his worth to his mother. a pretty strong, relatable concept if i say so myself. The idea came from my own background of a broken family, though my problematic parent was my dad, and numerous stepdads. They were drunks. I’m sure some of you can relate to that kind of upbringing. Through emotional writing, this story was born. It is set in a sci-fi future, on an alien planet. Adi is stranded and needs to find a ship that has a heart for an engine. My background in creature design really shows through here. It’s almost like a worldbuilding project mixed with an emotional story.

One of the cool things about this book is that I painted everything in watercolor for my senior project at CCAD. My professors really helped push me on this project.

I have a general idea of where the story was ultimately going to go, and this may be one project I revisit later in comic form.
